Description

These apple pie bites capture all the cozy flavors of traditional apple pie in a fun, bite-sized pastry. With flaky puff pastry, spiced apple filling, and a golden finish, they’re perfect for fall gatherings, parties, or easy weeknight desserts.


Ingredients

2 cups Granny Smith apples, peeled and diced

1 sheet store-bought puff pastry, thawed

2 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 egg (for egg wash)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, toss diced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice until evenly coated.
  3. Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into 3-inch squares.
  4. Spoon a small amount of apple mixture into the center of each square.
  5. Fold pastry over to form triangles or rectangles, pressing edges with a fork to seal.
  6. Brush tops with beaten egg for a golden shine.
  7. Arrange on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until puffed and golden brown.
  9. Cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

Sprinkle coarse sugar on top before baking for added crunch.

Add a pinch of nutmeg or allspice to the apple filling for deeper flavor.

Drizzle with a powdered sugar glaze once cooled for extra sweetness.

Drain excess liquid from the apple mixture to prevent soggy pastry.

Can be frozen unbaked and baked straight from frozen (add a few minutes).
