1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
Cooking spray
Instructions
- Boil the Tortellini: Boil the tortellini in water for about 4 minutes, or until tender. Drain and blot them dry with paper towels.
- Prepare the Coatings:
- In one bowl, mix the cornstarch, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- In another bowl, whisk the eggs.
- In a third bowl, combine the Panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning.
- Coat the Tortellini:
- Coat the boiled tortellini in the cornstarch mixture.
- Dip them into the egg wash.
- Coat the tortellini in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure they’re well-coated.
- Air Fry the Tortellini:
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Arrange the coated tortellini in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Lightly spray them with cooking spray to help with crispiness.
- Air fry for 10 minutes, shaking the basket every 3 minutes for even crisping.
- Serve: Once golden brown and crispy, remove from the air fryer and serve immediately.
Notes
For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper to the breadcrumb mixture.
Experiment with different types of cheese tortellini, such as spinach or mushroom.
For a more herby flavor, increase the amount of Italian seasoning or add basil and oregano.
