Description
Air Fryer Stuffed Pickles are a delicious snack featuring a tangy dill pickle base, creamy cheese filling, and a crispy breadcrumb topping, all cooked to perfection in an air fryer.
Ingredients
6 large dill pickles, halved lengthwise and scooped out
4 oz cream cheese, softened
½ cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon chopped chives or green onions
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt & pepper to taste
1/4 cup seasoned breadcrumbs or panko
1 tablespoon melted butter
Fresh dill or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Slice the pickles in half lengthwise and scoop out the centers to form boats. Pat the hollowed pickles dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped chives (or green onions), garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and well-combined.
- Spoon or pipe the cream cheese filling into each pickle half, packing it in generously.
- In a separate bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with melted butter until evenly coated.
- Sprinkle the buttery breadcrumbs over the stuffed pickles.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F. Place the stuffed pickles in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, or until golden and crispy on top.
- Garnish with fresh dill or parsley, if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
You can use other pickle varieties like bread and butter or spicy pickles for a flavor twist.
For extra flavor, try adding cooked bacon, jalapeños, or a drizzle of hot sauce before air frying.
If you don’t have an air fryer, bake the stuffed pickles at 375°F for 12-15 minutes or until crispy.
Patting the hollowed pickles dry with paper towels helps prevent sogginess.
To freeze, place the stuffed pickles on a baking sheet, freeze until solid, then transfer to a freezer bag. Air fry straight from frozen, adding extra minutes to the cook time.
